Welcome! My name is Carolina, and I am the owner and creator of Emotions Matter. I am deeply passionate about helping people connect with themselves and feel confident about their own journey. My diverse experience includes working in schools, hospitals, customer service-driven environments, and private practice. During my schooling, I dedicated my time to working in the fitness industry, which drove me to connect with individuals, understand their goals, and recognize their limits. I strongly believe prioritizing your mental, emotional, and physical well-being is crucial for leading a fulfilling life. By committing to self-care, personal growth, and healing, you equip yourself with the resilience and skills needed to navigate life's challenges. Gurkiran Singh

My name is Gurkiran k. Singh, founder and owner of Holistic Haven Counseling. I always knew I wanted to help people, and obtained a bachelor's in biomedical science, thinking the only way I could help was to become a doctor. That is furthest from the truth! Mental health is one of the most valid and under recognized forms of treatment available to the world. Upon exploring other avenues, I became fascinated with the mind, and how it works. From there I fell into how personal, biological, and social settings may impact individuals so uniquely. This led me to pursue my master's in clinical mental health counseling at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. 

In society we often time get lost in the world around us and what is next, and we forget about self. I am here to tell you that it is ok to choose you! When you fly on an airplane they walk you through a safety presentation, and in this presentation, one thing that always stuck in my mind was to help yourself, before you help others around you. How can you be of help if you keep pushing your own needs and health to the side? At some point, you will burn out. There will be times when you may be sad, mad, confused, frustrated, and even scared, but please remember that through those times, I will be there with you. On the flip end, there will also be times when you will be excited, encouraged, and lifted, and at these moments, I will also be there with you. True healing starts from within, and being honest about what you may be feeling. I challenge you to dive within and seek what you need to, to be able to heal and live life to the fullest. Truly, thank you again for allowing me to be a part of your journey.

Adriana Nava Sosa

My name is Adriana Nava Sosa, and I am grateful to fulfill my lifelong passion for helping others on their mental health journey.

Humans are resilient, filled with inner potential, and capable of meaningful change. My role as a therapist is to work collaboratively with my clients to develop this potential, build coping strategies, and use strengths to overcome life’s challenges.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology, with minors in Creative Writing and Philosophy, at the University of Miami and earned my Master of Science in Psychology focusing on Mental Health Counseling from Florida International University.

Throughout my training, I gained extensive experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I learned to integrate therapeutic approaches like Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I strive to work with clients to set therapeutic goals and design plans to achieve them. While I primarily use CBT, MI, and DBT, I adapt my approach and incorporate different therapeutic techniques based on each client’s needs. I have worked with children, teens, adults, couples, and families facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship issues. Before graduate school, I worked as an RBT for 4 years and conducted cognitive research with older adults for 18 months.

My goal is to ensure that you feel heard, understood, and empowered as we work together to overcome challenges and equip you with tools for your mental health journey.
